Smoked Herring Preparation

In a refrigerator, soak 12 oz. (340g) of smoked herring fillets in 6 cups (1.5 liters) of fresh
water for 4 hours, changing the water two times or cook according to your favorite recipe.

*Longer soaking or more frequent changing of the water will further decrease the salt content.
**If a higher salt content is desired adjust the soaking time accordingly.
